The following making technology is available for booking at the Digital Scholarship Centre. In order to use the equipment, you need to become certified.
Please note: users who do not arrive within 30 minutes of their booking starting time may have their time cancelled to accommodate others.
3D Printing
There are five available 3d printers in the Digital Scholarship Centre available to certified users. All printers are inside enclosures allowing overnight prints:
- Two Ultimaker 2+: Daphne and Nemo
- Two Ultimaker 3: Hermione and Hugo
- One Formlabs Form 2: Bob the Builder
If booking the Form 2, be aware you need to account for post-printing processes (1.5 hours at least). To certify, please self-enroll in the eClass certification module and complete the final quiz with 100%. After this, please arrange for a brief practice session with staff by booking a time here.
Cutting Machines
The DSC also has a Cricut Maker and a Fabool Laser Cutter for booking. To certify, please self-enroll in the eClass certification module and complete the final quiz with 100%. After this, please arrange for a brief practice session with staff by booking a time here.
