SUMMARY:Connecting with the art of survivors
DESCRIPTION:Location: Print Study Centre\, FAB 3-78\n \n\nIn this
workshop\, you'll get the opportunity to engage with visual art and written
works of residential school survivors.\nThe Library and Museums collections
host several items created by residential school survivors that are not
necessarily directly connected to their experiences at residential school.
Engage with these works by learning more about their history and their
creators\, making connections between them\, and understanding your own
relationship to this shared history.\nThis workshop offers the rare
opportunity to get a sneak peek of six new acquisitions of artwork that
will be included in the upcoming exhibit\, "On Becoming."\n\n \n\nVisitors
must sign in (name\, organization\, purpose\, and entry time) when they
enter the Print Study Centre for security purposes\n\n\n	No food\, drink or
gum chewing is permitted.\n	Coats\, large bags and briefcases are not
permitted.\n	Use pencil only for taking notes. Pens are not
permitted.\n	Please watch your step and be mindful of other visitors around
you. An accidental movement may cause damage to collection
materials.\n	Visitors are not permitted to handle artwork. Touching artwork
with bare skin can leave permanent marks caused by dirt\, oils and
perspiration.\n	Photography is not allowed.\n\n\nThe Print Study Centre is
accessible by elevator for those with mobility issues.\n\n\nThis event is
co-hosted by the Library Indigenous Initiative Team and the University of
 Alberta Museums\n
