Support your Research with Data Management Planning!
Data Management Plans (DMPs) are recognized as an important component of supporting research and are increasingly becoming a requirement by many research funders, including the Tri-Agencies. Join us for an applied session focusing on data management planning in which topics covered will include the importance and benefits of DMPs, how they support research, and what makes a ‘good’ DMP.
In addition, the Digital Research Alliance of Canada’s DMP Assistant platform, a freely accessible platform which enables researchers to develop and create their own DMPs, will be highlighted. Of notable interest will be the recently released ‘Alliance Simplified Template’ which is specifically targeted at supporting researchers in meeting requirements at the funding application stage of research. Participants are welcome to create an account (dmp-pdg.ca) prior to the session if they wish to explore this gold standard data management plan tool. Supportive resources will additionally be highlighted, including guidance documents and example DMPs.
There will be time reserved at the end of the session for questions and discussion.
