Support your Research with better metadata in Borealis-Dataverse!
Increase the visibility of your research by learning how to create effective metadata for your data deposits in Borealis (Dataverse). The Borealis platform provides an extensive set of metadata fields that researchers can use to describe their data deposits. This gives Borealis the flexibility to accommodate many types of data, but also means that creating metadata can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Metadata librarian John Huck will provide an overview of the Borealis metadata fields—including new fields introduced in recent updates to the platform—and help you identify the most important fields to use for your data. The session will also briefly cover metadata for the Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR), provide practical tips for better metadata, and explain how aggregating platforms like Lunaris harvest metadata from various data repositories to provide comprehensive search and discovery capabilities.
There will be time at the end of the session for questions and discussion.
