Introduction to Git

Introduction to Git

Git is the most commonly used version control system today: it allows you to track and revert changes to text files (especially code), and to share your work with collaborators without stumbling over each other's changes. You will have git installed on your computer, and you will have a basic familiarity with what git does and how to use it to store and retrieve code or text, to manage changes, and to manage different branches. The second hour (optional) will consist of hands-on practice with basic git tasks.
