Research Communications: Video Production Basics
The medium of video is a robust and effective communication tool in the scholarly environment. If you are thinking of using video to share research findings, as part of classwork, to enhance asynchronous instruction, or to produce a creative project, learning the steps of video production will strengthen your skills in each of these areas. Join the team of the Digital Scholarship Centre for a workshop that will cover topics like pre-production, filming, and publishing. The workshop is offered in-person at the DSC, room 2-20A.
The 3-hour session will consist of content and group exercises designed to help you understand and master video production concepts. No special equipment is required, as the workshop assumes most participants are making videos with mobile devices.
What you will need:
1) A mobile phone or a digital camera with video capabilities to film content.
Completion of this workshop can contribute to a partial requirement of The University of Alberta Professional Development program by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. Please contact the instructor to sign the Declaration of Attendance.
