Introduction to Systematic Searching for Reviews (systematic, scoping, and other) [3 parts]

Need help getting started on a systematic (or scoping) review? This three-part workshop will show you the ropes on how to develop comprehensive searches! The sessions are sequential, later sessions building on knowledge from earlier ones.

When you register for this workshop, you'll be automatically registered for all 3 days (Nov 26-28). Each session runs from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. It is not mandatory to attend all 3 workshops.

  • Nov 26 (Step 1) - Methodology introduction, determine the feasibility of your review
  • Nov 27 (Step 2) - Structured systematic searching, execute MEDLINE search
  • Nov 28 (Step 3) - Translate searches, manage your review, searching documentation/reporting, grey literature searching

Participants who miss a session can catch up using the modules in the online tutorial found here.

Sessions will be hybrid. You may join in-person in the Sperber Library Teaching & Learning Lab or remotely via Zoom. Online participants will be sent Zoom links to join prior to the start of the workshop. Please contact Janice Kung (janice.kung@ualberta.ca) if you have any questions.
