Research Communications: Object Photography
In research and teaching, often one has to capture detailed images of objects so they can be studied later or presented in the classroom. In this workshop we will learn how to take images of small to medium sized objects. We will review camera settings and discuss using a shallow depth of field. We will use object softboxes to get photos free of disracting backgrounds. The workshop will also include a tutorial on how to remove backgrounds from images to prepare the photos for use in slides, teaching materials or digital archives.
What participants need: If you have a DSLR camera feel free to bring it, one will be available for participants who do not have one to try. While the workshop will include a demo of Adobe Photoshop students will not require having access to the software to participate.
