Research Communications: Illustration for Academic Purposes
Research communication often requires the representation of data in the form of charts or diagrams to illustrate how experiments were conducted, to elaborate on frameworks, and to explain complex ideas. This workshop will make use of a number of tools to create impactful illustrations for your research communications. This will include a demo of using basic charts and data modules in Adobe Illustrator and Excel. We will also practise building illustrations in both Figma and in the Procreate App on iPads. We will discuss how to ideate your concepts into illustrations, and how to find colours, typefaces, and layouts to ensure your visuals look professional and polished. This is an in-person workshop.
