Research Communications: Photo Editing with Photoshop

Research Communications: Photo Editing with Photoshop

Is it ethical to edit photos? Do photos ever convey ‘the truth’? Is photography a product of technology or a form of art? These are some of the ideas that will be discussed in this workshop that will introduce participants to both practical and theoretical implementations of digital photo editing using Adobe Photoshop. Participants will learn about how to make adjustmentss, correct imperfections in image quality, how to use masks and other modification tools, and also consider the deeper social and historical perspectives tied to photo manipulation. This workshop will focus on achieving particular kinds of results with photoshop, rather than just listing and demonstrating tools.

What participants need: The workshop will present demos from Adobe Photoshop but participants will not require access to the software for the duration of the workshop.

This workshop is HYBRID. In person attendees can come to the Digital Scholarship Centre on Cameron Library, 2nd Floor, online registrants will be sent a zoom link as the date of the workshop approaches.
